Welcome! This Newsletter will contain news, information and ways to incorporate a Portable Prayer Life Chapel in your home, church, school, retreat center, hospital, or wherever you need a place of worship. Happy Autumn! Summer is now over, but with the beauty of the seasons we see the wonder of God. We wish you God’s blessings as you begin or resume your ministries. This week, we would like to suggest that a Portable Prayer Life Chapel would be a perfect solution for a prayerful worship environment for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Children’s messages can be helpful in the spiritual formation of our children. As a catechesis component, Children’s Messages can provide a powerful message in a way that grabs the attention of our youth. An example of a Children’s Message is provided below: Johnny: You know what? Sally: What! Johnny: I heard that Jesus is a healer of the sick and sinful. Sally: That’s right! Johnny: Well....I don’t think that’s right. Sally: Really? You don’t? Well, Why not? Johnny: Well, everyone knows that Jesus can heal the sick, but how can he heal the sinful? Oh, by the way....what is “the sinful”? Sally: Great questions! I looked it up in the dictionary and it says sinful is “unGodly acts”. Johnny: Oh....uh.....is that kind of like breaking God’s rules? Sally: Absolutely! Very, very good! Breaking the commandments. Johnny: Then what happens? Will God put is in time out? Sally: No, nothing like that! He will heal us. Johnny: There you go again....how can God heal us from breaking the rules, I mean commandments? Sally: God is a loving and forgiving God. He will show us how to live. Johnny: When will he be here? Sally: God is with us all the time. He has sent us the gift of people in our lives that help teach us what is right and wrong. Johnny: Like mom and dad? Sally: Right! Who else? Johnny: Like our pastors and teachers? Sally: Right again! How about our lectors when they proclaim the readings? Johnny: I get it....so we learn from everyone... Sally: Yes. We use our hands, our mouths, our lives to do God’s work. We pray to and have faith and feel God’s healing touch. Johnny: Can kids be teachers too? Sally: Yes, kids can be teachers too. When we sing or say our prayers together as a family of faith, or help someone in need, we teach each other about God’s love. Johnny: We are very blessed. Sally: Yes we are and we are all children of God. Will you pray with me? In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Dear God.......thank you for your healing touch.....thank you for sending us..........people that help guide us........to be more like You. And all God’s praying children say...... AMEN In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Copyright 2005 by Barbara E. Pinto-Choate and Praying Twice Ministries and Bella Publishing Company. All rights Reserved.
